While working at her desk
one afternoon, Virginia lets her mind wander through
the streets of Los Angeles. But no matter where she
goes, from a summer party in a mansion to the city streets
on a winter’s evening, she is haunted by the presence
of Vita.
STREET HAUNTING is a lyrical,
melancholic piece based on a short essay by Virginia
Woolf that explores the limits of an artist's isolation
and imagination. Filmmaker Kami Chisholm shot this 16mm
film in 1995 while a student in Loyola Marymount University's
film production department, but was unable to finish
it at that time. In 2006, with the resources of the
digital age at her fingertips, Chisholm returned to
the project, which was finally completed in early 2007.
